DIY Matters helps Prospects project with allotment clearance
Prospects have been developing a Gardening and Horticultural project this year.
Although we have an allotment, the ground is prone to unwanted weeds springing up when not in use.
DIY Matters, a Manchester-based company, has very generously donated 250m of quality weed control material, to help us cover the allotment over the cold winter months.
DIY Matters is a subsidiary to one of the largest importers of landscape fabric in the UK, with unique access to high quality non-woven and woven materials at competitive prices. The company responded immediately to the request from Judi Samuels (our gardening expert) for the material and as a result, the Gardening and Horticulture workshop has got off to great start.
Successful partnerships such as this help develop the community and give encouragement to both the project and participants in their efforts to put into practice their newly acquired growing skills.
As a project we are committed to continually developing our community work and engaging with other stakeholders to meet our goals. As the Education Training and Employment Coordinator at Prospects I would like to thank DIY Matters for their generous donation and everyone’s efforts and hard work to develop the gardening project.
