The world of insurance at Lloyds in London couldn’t be more removed from the world that some of our clients inhabit. But despite spending our working days pursuing very different agendas we all share a common need for a roof over our heads, something to eat and some one to show us that they care.
We were therefore delighted when Hardy took an interest in the work of the Welcome Project by making a £10,000 donation towards our work. The relationship and interest has developed over time with a visit to the new Day Centre in 2012 by Mervyn Sugden (Deputy Director of Underwriting), Vickie Stacy (Assistant Underwriter) and Annika Rule (Underwriter). The visit was something of an eye opener for the staff of Hardy.

Inspired by their visit the Hardy Charity Committee organised a charity quiz night in the City that raised over £10,000 on the night. This sum was shared between the Welcome Project and another worthy cause close to the heart of the Hardy Charity Committee.

Following the visit to The Welcome Centre, we decided that we wanted to maintain our support of the charity going forward and so this year organised a charity event to raise more money towards the charity’s cause.’ - Hardy

The Welcome Project is always happy to talk to potential Sponsors and Supporters about how we can work together to end homelessness. Relatively small amounts of money can make a huge impact in an individual’s life. It’s the knowledge and experience of knowing how to apply those resources which is so critical and that’s where we can help.
